Comic Books Can Save Reading?

Written February 2019

If it weren’t for comic books, I probably wouldn’t be as big of a reader as I am today.

Comics are the gateway to so many different avenues, that the possibilities are just endless. People make comics about everything… When most people hear the word comic, they think of the mainstream Marvel and DC… But there’s just so much more .So many different types, genres, and art styles that the combinations are endless.

It can intorduce people to whole new concepts that other types of media cant begin to showcase. Easy platform to start off on, comics are easy to read, and are able to grab and maintain your attention immediately. From there you can graduate up and up.

Allows people to easily comprehend and connect with what theyre reading, and the characters and setting in the story. Teaches to enhance readers’ creativity and imagination which can tremendously assist with other types of reading where the story isn’t visually laid out for you. So you gotta visua;ize most of whats going on in your own head instead of having it handed to you on a silver platter.

Comics are severely underrated now, many believe that comics are just for nerds or children, but often don’t realize that they are able to delve deep into much darker themes and really tow the line. Comics are crazy, the act of drawing allows creators with so much freedom that possibilities are endless, if you can draw it, you can do it,which is a lot more interesting than print, televised, or radio media since the possibilities are endless, and you aren’t restricted by anything or have any set limitations based on the media form that you operate in.

A picture can tell a thousand words. Making it easier for readers to consume and absorb themes and emotions in the story without having to read pages upon pages of description or narration.
