The Walking Dead Sucks, and I Hate It

This is a public service announcement to everyone that is involved with The Walking Dead Tv Series… ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The dream is over, just give up.

If you haven’t watched this show or were planning to, just don’t… You’ll get everything you need to know just from my video. Actually you know what, you can still save this show.. AMC HIRE ME, ILL RUN THIS. I’m the only one who can reanimate this lifeless disappointment of a corpse… Its not even a real tv show anymore, it’s a shadow of something that was cool at some point… but isn’t anymore. And its really killing itself.

Alzheimers is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. 5.7 MILLION AMERICANS ARE LIVING WITH ALZHEIMER'S. The majority of people that have developed this disease are seniors, and writers for the walking dead.

1. Digging Deeper

The first few seasons introduces us to a laaaaaarge cast of characters that for the most part are pretty cool. The story is told through Rick’s eyes. We learn things as he does, since he’s the main character. The first half of the show does a pretty good job of showing what would happen to the world if a zombie apocalypse actually happened. How would it change other people, and how would that affect our heroes. The show does pick favourites, and most of the shows favourites get tremendous time and development… However, unfortunately for the rest of the main crew, many people get left by the wayside. This can be good though, some of the characters are sick as heck and I wanna see them all day every day, the problem is that some characters are absolutely useless and get way too much screen time.

I’m gonna focus on Rick, I don’t care what anyone says, Rick is the best character in the entire show. Rick goes through the absolute ringer during his time on the show. His morales are really put to the test, in the end reinforcing his character and personality as a whole and solidifying him as the ultimate good boy of the series. I found myself genuinely cheer for him.

This ties into my first problem with the series though. Recycling. The walking dead started off so good. It presented all these ideas and situations that were new and unique. Unfortunately, I think the writers or SOMEONE behind the scenes developed a serious case of Alzheimers. That’s not even a joke, I cant count on both hands how many times the show recycles the plot ideas and character arcs to the point where its like listening to your 90 year old grandparent tell you the same story every single time you see them. Its absolutely maddening. No one learns their lesson in the show, which makes it quite unrealistic. Youu think these people would learn a few things when their constantly at risk of dying by not just the millions of zombies roaming around but also the seemingly endless amount of insane people they run into.

If you think I’m joking ill rattle off a few quick examples off the top of my head.

The general flow of the story – Rick and the gang are roaming around, looking for a safe place to settle down. They find a seemingly good area to live, They meet a new group of people, the people turn out to be nuts, their new home gets destroyed, and the cycle starts all over again. This happens MULLTIPLE TIMES.

1. The group finds Herschels farm, live there for a while, oh snap turns out his family is nuts and has been keeping their dead family in the barn as walkers just hanging out. Farm burns down, they look for another place.
2. They find a nice solitary prison to live. They meet a new group of people led by The Governor. Wait this guy is keeping his dead daughter in his room, and he wants to rule over all humans like a dicator? Oh he’s burning down our home to assert his dominance? Oh man, shoot lets go guys turns out theyre screwed too.
3. Oh hey look it’s a place called Terminus, oh look these people are nice; theyre feeding us look at that. OH WAIT THEYRE TRYING TO EAT US LETS GET OUTTA HERE.
4. One of the girls wakes up in a hospital… Doctors and cops are nice right? Oh… they wont let her leave and someones trying to get frisky her? I guess this isn’t a good place either.
5. This guy found us and is telling us to come live in his town… Idk guys, should we trust them? Im not completely sure, I feel like we’ve kind of been in this situation before… Oh, these people just suck, they aren’t crazy, RIGHT? Hold on,theres another group of dudes just outide the city too….. I guess that didn’t work out either.
6. Hey these guys are trying to mess with us.. haha nope not this time screw YOU we kill u all. Jesus? Seems like a chill guy… Our world is about to become a lot bigger? Sounds promising… Ya don’t worry hilltop, The Saviours? Do you know who I am? Im Rick goshdarn Grimes ill eat them for breakfast. Oh shoot… now they own us I guess.

That’s just the story… you have no idea how many flip floppy characters there are in this show. They dedicate so much time each season to developing characters that their whole arc completes in just a few episodes… But then what the hell are we going to do with them, theyre arc is already complete, how do we make them grow even more? Oh we don’t… we just make them deal with the same problems every season and make everyone flip flop. Almost every character is guilty of this in the show, no one sticks to their guns and ends up falling into the same loop over and over again.

Our lord and savior rick starts off as a peacemaker, trusts everyone. Until he gets punked over by so many people until he becomes a killing machine who will protect his family at all costs. Then morgan teaches him the way of peace again. Then after negan screws with him he decides to kill the saviours.

Morgan’s son dies offscreen. He ends up going crazy and becomes a mindless killing machine, until he meets somebody and learns to harness his anger to spread peace. But when he joins up with our merry crew he is constantly being put into circumstances that almost push him over the edge… Will he become a monster again? Will he be a good boy? Watch for like another 3 seasons to find out.

Gregory, leader of hilltop. Seems like a good guy, but is scared to fight back. He submits to Negan and the saviours, and when Rick shows up he gives up his title as leader of big house. Tries to get his leadership back, but ends up losing to Maggie and promising he wont stand against her again… Until he tries to gain the power again by getting a big boy drunk and persuading him to murder Maggie.

Watching Eugene on the screen is like watching a fish die on land in real time. Constantly flip flopping all over the place its actually hard to watch. First he’s a scientist, oh he lied cuz hes a coward and wants to stay alive and stick with the strong guys. He’s learning to believe in himself more, oh wait he betrays all his friends for Negan just to stay alive. He sabotages the saviours army so that Rick actually could win… Is he like a hero now? Nah, hes still scared all the time even though hes been living in this world for years surrounded by the strongest group in the game… guess he hasn’t learned anything either.

Andrea… She comes off as the strong female type character but honestly does nothing. She has the chance to save all of her friends, prevent so many deaths by killing the governor… IS SHE GONNA KILL HIM??? Oh guess not.. OH WAIT HOW ABOUT NOW?? No? WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOUNG YOU COULDVE PREVENTED ALL OF THIS FROM HAPPENING… YOU SINGLE HANDEDLY COULDVE SAVED THE SHOW. WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS.

Alzheimers is a real epidemic that plagues this show. Im not sure who the writers are for this show. But they really need to step their game up. Are you even paying attention when youre writing the script? Does anyone have the balls to stand up and say “um I think weve kinda done this already…” or is everyone just sitting there clapping like ya ya this is what a drama Is like right guys? Ya ya this is allowed right? Right? And then they all pat eachother on the back after its all over like they did a good job. YOU ARENT DOING A GOOD JOB SMARTEN UP… IM A TEENAGER AND I NOTICED ALL THIS GARBAGE AFTER WATCHING THE SHOW ONCE.

For all I know, they could be hiring new writers every season or willy nilly who knows. But THAT’S NOT AN EXCUSE. If they are hiring new people then there’s no way that they even watch the show in the first place. I’d understand if it were just one guy the whole time, and if he were crazy that would explain this problem… but there’s NO way that new people coming in would keep recycling the SAME PROBLEMS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Im getting way too heated.. this isn’t a good sign I still have 2 more points to get through.

The writing/directing in this show is ABYSMAL… For this I have a few subtopics:

1. Killing off Characters
2. Everyone is either cardboard or an alien

I’m not sure if the people in The Walking Dead are secretly aliens or something but almost no one acts like a normal human… It’s almost like the staff is giving the actors terrible direction on purpose to try and tank the show. I know most of the actors aren’t thaaaat terrible, they just have crappy direction. I’m currently caught up to season 9 and I could care less to go back and research all the garbage from past seasons but believe me when I say its badddddd. So ill just be bashing season 9 for now.

Michonne has looked like she dropped one in her pants ever since Rick left. She only has two facial expressions; mad, and angry.

Freckels (Henry) is a little douchebag who never learns his lesson. I’m not sure if the writers understand that in a dystopian hellscape with psycho killer groups not to mention dead people all running around trying to kill you, that people wouldn’t be thinking about helping literally everyone. The kid gets caught multiple times trying to help someone and getting done in by it (one with Carol and one with the masked ppl). NOT TO MENTION his character did a COMPLETE 180. Literally before the timeskip he was a mentally out there little kid who wanted to kill everything…. Or am I making this up? TELL ME HOW he goes from a little killing machine to “I want to help everyone yeah”. That’s not how people work!!!!!

Eugene actually isn’t human. Refer me to ONE person that talks like this. I already went through some of his issues so ill keep this brief. This isn’t normal… no one likes this… no one asked for this… stop.

Rick's daughter talks like she’s 30. Now, I get that in this type of world you’re probably gonna have to mature a bit faster. But that doesn’t take from the fact that she’s like 10 maybe and talks like a grown up. SHES A KID, KIDS DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING THE DON’T UNDERSTAND.. What happened to all the kids from the prison season who were all arrogant and didn’t give a care what the adults were telling them, because that’s how all kids are. If you can’t even write a kid correctly, how can I trust you to create a compelling narrative or develop any of these characters properly. The answer is I can't.

You might be wondering… “Oh, you must be exaggeratingggg there must be SOME good actors in this show right???” WRONG. This is because every good actor is KILLED OFF OR WRITTEN OUT.

Now, before I go off on this tangent, im gonna play devils advocate. So many of the characters that I actually enjoyed and was invested in were removed from the show… so yeah, im a bit salty. But I do somewhat think that these characters purposefully didn’t overstay their welcome. So it could just be a coincidence, but I think that the writers really wanted to do us a solid and kill off the cool guys while they were still cool… before they could be poisoned by the boring narrative, trash writing, and laughable acting that they were surrounded by.

But here’s my counter. If all the cool people were in the show, it would be badass as hell. If they killed off all the losers instead of the interesting and strong people, then im almost 100% certain the show would be infinitely more interesting. Rest in peace to all my boys and girls that should be alive, but were too good for this rotting corpse of a show. Glenn, Abraham, Sasha, Merle, Shane, Tyreese, Simon, Bob, Lizzie, Shiva, Jesus, Herschel, Rick. All you guys brought personality, interesting backstory, strength, and your own flare to spice up this show. Unfortunately, The Walking Dead is not allowed to be a good show ever again.

Now that I look at it, this cast of heroes is crazy strong. If they were all alive, there probably wouldn’t be ANY conflict that they couldn’t deal with easily. The problem is. EVERYONE ELSE SUCKS. I personally don’t understand how all the weak people have made it this far, walking over the bones of all the warriors who died protecting them. No wonder no one knows how to handle all the conflicts that appear… theyre all losers, and all the leaders are dead.

I honestly wouldn’t have a problem with this show at all if it were JUST a bad show. The Walking Dead has its ups and its downs, and I do admit that it does have nuggets of gold spread out across its long 9 season span. However, it lacks enough heart and soul to actuall make watching it worth it. It feels like a cash grab, just being made to waste your time, and get your hopes up before ripping your heart out and stomping on it. Please, for the love of god, do not watch The Walking Dead.
